I'm an editor at the Austin Chronicle, deep in the left ventricle of the heart of Texas, which means that my day job is a roughly equal mix of paperwork, politics, and paradise in a one-story building that used to be a brick manufacturer's showroom. Yes: bricks. You can probably imagine the interior design.

When not at the office (or flailing away epileptic-giraffewise on the adjoining volleyball court), I tend to hole up in my nearby apartment and lose myself in some book or movie or series of interconnected websites. I sometimes consider going out to a bar and getting falling-down drunk, but then I remember how much I tend to regret that shit once I'm standing-up sober again, so I usually just get together with some friend over coffee at a diner and wrangle a conversation from bits of underground culture, personal history, and local gossip.
