I'm no longer married to the playwright Molly Rice. She and I are now in the subset of people--like my sister, my father, Molly's mother, my girlfriend, David Jewell, Elizabeth of course Taylor--among a few hundred thousand others, I understand--who must put DIVORCED in the appropriate blanks of financial applications, legal documents, etc. You'd do well to investigate Molly's projects, friend, as she continues to write (and have produced) works of theatre that excite audiences while moving the complex machinery of staged art forward in ways that are smart, dark, and important: almost scarily so.

My teenage daughter Angelica is an aspiring mangaka and very much a chip off this old block. I have a few friends I'm almost worthy of, more acquaintances than I can remember, and an abiding appreciation of scorpions.
